| As a church we are able to meet with the juveniles at JCC and CCJDC about once a week each. On Tuesday evenings Pastor Tim, Pastor Brent , Pastor Paul and other volunteers do a bible study at Canyon County Juvenile Detention Center (also known as County) and on Saturday afternoons, Billy Carroll and other volunteers do a service/bible study at the Juvenile Corrections Center. |
| Through a small base of volunteers, we help to ensure that the religious needs are met of the juveniles in JCC and "County". One of our goals as volunteers from Calvary Chapel Nampa is simply to share Jesus and the gospel and to let them know that their sins are forgiven through Jesus and that it is not too late to turn their lives around. Religious Services are a key part of sharing Jesus Christ with the Juveniles that have found themselves in custody at the JCC and "County". There are many different reasons and circumstances that contribute to these juveniles being placed here but the one thing they all have in common is that whether they know Jesus or not, they were probably not walking with him at the time they found themselves in trouble, which makes it an excellent time to show them the love of Jesus. Many of these juveniles are feeling lost and alone when they enter the program and are searching for answers and direction and through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit our volunteers are able to plant seeds and help point them in the right direction. If you are interested in Volunteering or have any questions, please contact Pastor Brent Bowden at 989-7952 or Tanya Hoskins at 467-7116 Mon-Thurs 8am-3pm. We are especially looking for more female volunteers for Saturday afternoons. There is a training class, background check, and finger printing that must be done prior to actually volunteering, but once that is all completed we would only ask that you volunteer one Saturday per month from 3:00 pm to about 4:30 pm. |
